We can offer training in obedience for dogs aged 12 weeks and over through class work or on a 1:1 basis, plus an Agility course for dogs over 12 months who have attained a reasonable obedience basic standard.  We are also proposing to introduce various short courses to help specifically with socialisation, and behavioural problems in the pet dog, whatever their age.  We also want to introduce workshops to teach children the best way to behave with dogs, along with their parents, not only their own but with stranger's dogs too.

Who are we?

ANN LINSCOTT

Ann has a wealth of experience and has owned, or been responsible for, many different dogs over the last 35 years, taking up professional obedience training in 2010.  She has studied with the Animal Care College and gained certificates in Canine Psychology, and in 2012 she successfully completed an intensive instructors course run by the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers.  She has taken responsibility for the Westexe Dog Training School, as the original owner had to give up on health grounds.  Ann has attended external workshops including Tellington TTouch and calming therapies for dogs, as both client and as a helper, and would like to see more workshops of this nature come to the area.  Ann also volunteers for Ferne Animal Sanctuary, Chard, doing local visits to dogs that have been rehired in the Mid Devon area.  Lately Ann has taken up the challenge of becoming a Kennel Club Accredited Instructor and is currently working towards attaining that qualification.

KATE KING

Kate is Ann's daughter who is working alongside Ann at the Shobrooke class.  Kate has had dogs of her own throughout her adult life, successfully breeding a lovely litter of cocker spaniels.  She is also working towards gaining the Kennel Club Accredited Instructors qualification and accompanies Ann on various external trainings to update her own knowledge and experience.  She is a very valuable member of the team and willingly uses her own dogs in class to demonstrate some of the exercises.

Kate also owns and runs Kings Pawfection in North Devon. Her services include Dog Walking, Dog Grooming, Day Minding, Puppy/Senior Dog Visits, Small Pet Animal Boarding and more!
